  • Higher teacher wages: Teachers at public schools are expecting a EGP 325-475 monthly bump in their salaries after a draft law that will cost the state coffers north of EGP 6.1 bn was approved by cabinet last week.
  • No covid-19 at schools: No new covid-19 cases have been reported among students of national schools and universities, whose academic year began earlier this month.
  • Elsewedy’s vocational schools: Elsewedy Technical Education (STA) has signed an MoU with the Education Ministry to establish 10 vocational schools in the next five years.
  • Scholarships to South Sudan: Some 400 students from South Sudan are getting scholarships to study in Egypt every year under an MoU signed this week.
