Tech and pharma companies have done pretty well, despite an otherwise chaotic year

In an incredibly tough year for business, the clear winners are tech and pharma companies. Pharma companies are doing well thanks to the global race to develop a vaccine for the novel coronavirus, while tech giants — including owners of virtual communications platforms such as Zoom and Teams — are benefiting from the shift to remote work.
