  • President Abdel Fattah El Sisi pledged to help Somalia eradicate Al Shabab in his conversation with their president last week, according to Africa News.
  • President Abdel Fattah El Sisi’s meeting with an Evangelical delegation last week is being well received by the politically powerful denomination, according to The Washington Post. The Evangelical community is politically supportive of Israel and the visit also got attention in the Israeli media.
  • The National Council for Women “filed a complaint to the top prosecutor seeking legal action against a lawyer who called for the raping of women who wear ripped jeans,” member Nada Draz confirmed to the AP last Thursday.
  • Irish-Egyptian national Ibrahim Halawa denied he was ever a member of the Ikhwan, saying in a radio interview with the Irish national broadcaster that he “would differ with them a lot on so many points,” according to the BBC.
  • Nigeria is investigating reports Nigerians were victims of the organ trade in Egypt, among other countries, The Punch reports.
