Still more What We’re Tracking Today
Our roundup of Last Night’s Talk Shows is off this morning — every host of note was on hiatus last night.
Send a message to the outside world: A longtime friend of Enterprise has gotten together with a number of his friends to launch an online petition to talk about religious tolerance in Egypt. The organizers are asking you to show “your fellow Egyptians and the international community that we are all united — Muslims and Christians — against all forms of violence and that Islam, like all religions, denounces all forms of violence and extremism.” Not even the deep cynic in us can disagree with that sentiment. Check out the petition here — signing it will take just seconds, unless you also choose to leave a comment. Already signed it? Take a moment to share it on El Face, Tweeter, El Whats or the social media platform of your choice.
If your sweet tooth won’t be held back this Ramadan, Uber wants to help, and is offering to deliver basboosa to your doorstep for today only between 2-6 pm through UberBASBOOSA On-Demand.
Random Ramadan Recommendation: We firmly believe that hawawshi is a breakfast food. And a lunch food. And will do as a late-night snack (if you count eating it at 8:30pm as late night — stupid early wake-ups…). With that in mind, we’re pleased to tip Gourmet Egypt’s cooked-and-frozen hawawshi. The package comes with no cooking instructions, so let us fill in the gap: Preheat your oven to 190 or 195°C. Place the hawawshi directly on a rack in the middle of the oven. Cook for 24 minutes, turning it every six minutes. Cut in quarters and serve alongside whatever else you’re having for fetar.
So, when do we eat? Maghrib prayers are at 18:52 CLT in Cairo, and the cutoff time for sohour is 3:10am. That’s two minutes more fasting than yesterday, for those of you keeping track at home.
