Phone on wheels? Picture a smartphone placed in a plastic case with wheels attached to it and an embedded motor that controls the phone’s movement. Then watch it come alive with this video of University of Tokyo students Takefumi Hiraki, Koya Narumi, Koji Yatani and Yoshihiro Kawahara’s prototype which they will present at the annual ACM User Interface Software and Technology Symposium in October, according to Co.Design’s John Brownlee. The phone can rotate, move forward and backward, and even push loads. Thanks to such features, we can be saved from snoozing the alarm until God knows when – Runaway snooze application lets the phone literally run away from your hand when you try to reach out for it.
