THE MARKET ON WEDNESDAY: The EGX30 kicked off the session with broad-based buying appetite that strengthened as the day went on, leading the index to close up 1.2%. GB Auto was among today’s significant gainers along with Telecom Egypt and EFG Hermes. SODIC marked its first entry into the green territory since reporting a 54.4% y-o-y drop in its 1Q2016 net contracted sales figure. On the flip side, Oriental Weavers was among today’s biggest losers, dropping 2.0% on negligible volume. At a market turnover of EGP 547.2 mn, local investors were the sole net sellers. Regionally, Saudi Arabia’s TASI and Dubai’s DFM General Index both ended today’s session marginally in the green.
