Egyptian authorities denied entry to Remy Pigaglio, a French journalist who worked for several publications, including Catholic daily La Croix and RTL radio, and who had reportedly been accredited by Egyptian authorities. According to the Associated Press, Pigaglio “has a residency work permit and press card, and was detained for 30 hours at the airport before being sent back to Paris early Wednesday.” Egyptian Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry told his French counterpart that Pigaglio was denied entry for unspecified security reasons, a French official was quoted by the Wall Street Journal as saying.
