Support Egypt coalition will be the first and largest official coalition in parliament

The House of Representatives also voted to approve the first official coalition bloc in parliament — the Support Egypt coalition — Ahram Gate reports. With 315 members, the Support Egypt will be the largest bloc in parliament. Meanwhile, the parliament also discussed redrawing the borders of the governorates. The realignment will take place along latitudes, linking areas of the red Sea Governorates with Upper Egypt and place the disputed territory of Shalatin in the governorate of Aswan, said House Speaker Ali Abdel Aal. Furthermore, amendments to the Labor Unions Act were handed to the House Manpower Committee to make its recommendations, AMAY reports. While details of the amendments have not been made clear, this could affect unions such as the Press Syndicate and Doctors’ Syndicate, both of which been involved in acts of protests against the security service.
