Egypt’s alleged maltreatment of security dogs from the US leads coverage: The top story on Egypt in the foreign press this morning is that the US Department of State is no longer sending us explosive-detecting dogs after three of 10 dogs sent to Egypt died from maltreatment. One dog reportedly suffered from lung cancer, while one died from a ruptured gallbladder and the third from heat stroke. Jordan, too, will no longer be sent bomb-sniffing dogs under the program.
