Mugabe steps down after 37 years in office
Zimbabwe’s strongman, Robert Mugabe, resigned from office yesterday, “a week after the army and his former political allies moved to end four decades of rule, Reuters reports. The 93 year-old Mugabe’s former vice president Emmerson Mnangagwa, “whose sacking this month prompted the military takeover that forced Mugabe out,” is expected to be sworn in as new president later this week.
