Egypt will spend EGP 320 mn to establish a water treatment plant in Fayoum’s New Azab, Housing Minister Assem El Gazzar said in a statement yesterday without specifying a date. The project will process 60k cubic meters of water per day, he added. The plant is part of a larger project to upgrade the city’s wastewater infrastructure that will see the construction of four new treatment plants, as well as seven being expanded and 10 repaired.

- Almost 59k people have applied to swap their cars for new natgas models through the Finance Ministry’s website since the first phase of the government’s plan to convert or replace 1.8 mn cars went live earlier this year.
- The first flight from Kazakhstan since the pandemic-induced hiatus last year has landed at Hurghada International Airport with 105 tourists aboard.
- EgyptAir will operate three weekly flights between Cairo and Düsseldorf starting from 2 July, offering up to 20% off for those booking in advance during April.
- Trucks traveling from Egypt with excess weight offenses will be denied entry into Sudan as of today.
