A MESSAGE FROM SODIC
Over 2,000 runners will hit the street in SODIC West on Friday in collaboration with Cairo Runners on the occasion of Breast Cancer Awareness Month
In honour of October Breast Cancer Awareness Month, SODIC in collaboration with Cairo Runners will hold the “SODIC and Baheya Run Against Cancer” on Friday, October 30th at 8:00am in SODIC West.
Runners will follow a 6 kilometre route to raise funds and increase awareness about breast cancer and the importance of its early detection. Runners of all ages are welcome.
The run is a SODIC Sports initiative and comes as part of SODIC’s continuous social responsibility efforts. This year, more than 2,000 participants will take part in the run, which will get underway at 8:00am in SODIC West.
Baheya is the first hospital in Egypt and the Middle East to specialise in the early detection and treatment of breast cancer. All services at the hospital are free and are extended to all women who enter the premises. Funds raised through donations on the day will be donated to Baheya Cancer Hospital. The run is a reflection of SODIC’s belief in the role athletes play in supporting causes that truly make a difference.
The race is open to runners of all ages and anyone who would like to help the cause against breast cancer. Following the race, a celebration will be held at the Westown Hub, where the total amount of money raised for Baheya Cancer Hospital will be announced.
This is the second year SODIC and Cairo Runners hold a charity run, with last year’s run having been dedicated to building and operating a school in Ezbet Khairallah.
TO PARTICIPATE: Meet at Westown Hub at 7:30am sharp on Friday, 30 October 2015. Donations can be made at that time or any time priori at SODIC Headquarters in SODIC West.
