- Egypt jumps four places in SCImago university research rankings: Egypt now ranks 32 out of 231 in Spain-based SCImago Journal Rank’s (SJR) 2019 list of countries with the highest number of published and cited scientific papers.
- Universities allowed to teach electronically: Cabinet has approved amendments to the executive regulations of the Universities Act allowing higher education institutions to use e-learning platforms and distance learning to teach entire curricula.
