Sudan’s ambassador to return, security delegation in Gaza, Egypt elected vice-chair of UN disarmament body

Sudan’s ambassador to Egypt Abdel Mahmoud Abdel Halim will return to Cairo “within days” to resume his duties Sudan’s Foreign Minister Ibrahim Ghandour said, Ahram Online reports. Abdel Halim was recalled a month ago. Al Arabiya also has the story.

An Egyptian security delegation arrived in Gaza yesterday for talks on the stalled reconciliation agreement between rival Palestinian factions Fatah and Hamas, Kuwait News Agency reports. The Associated Press also takes note.

Egypt’s Bassem Hassan has been elected as one of five vice-chairs of the UN Disarmament Commission’s 2018 substantive session, the UN announced yesterday.
